Johanna Konta was born on 17 May 1991 in Sydney, Australis. She is a British tennis player. She has won three singles titles on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour, 11 singles and 4 doubles titles on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit so far in her career. She is in the number one position in Britain, and her world ranking is number 7. Konta was ranked World number six on 8 May 2017 for singles, and No. 88 in August 2016 for doubles. The athletic player plays her to serve as the best weapon.

Konta is the first Briton to be ranked amongst the WTA’s top ten since Jo Durie over 30 years before. She reached the semifinal of the 2016 Australian Open, a quarterfinal appearance at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, and her first WTA title in Stanford. This marked her best Grand Slam result to date. She won the biggest title to be held by a British female tennis player in April 2017, after defeating Caroline Wozniacki in the final of the Miami Open. In May 2012, she became a British citizen from Australian citizen. She transferred her sporting allegiance from Australia to Great Britain.

Konta started her career in 2008. She won her first ITF singles title with a cash prize of $10,000, the tournament held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In February 2009, entering as a wild card, Konta defeated the top player, Corinna Dentoni and achieved $25,000 in the tournament at Sutton, UK. Although she lost her first match in eight of the nine tournaments entered during the 2nd half of 2009, she regained herself and reached the quarterfinal of the $50,000 tournament in Florida in 2010. Later in the year, she made a quarterfinal appearance, two semifinal appearances and her second ITF singles title of the year in Belgium. She won her 5th ITF singles title at the Aegon GB Pro-Series event. In 2012, she qualified for the US open when she recorded her first career win at Grand Slam level. She gathered a total of $1m in 2013. She qualified for the US Open and was ranked top 50 for her performance in 2015. She had a slow start in 2016 but was able to achieve first Grand Slam semifinal, Top 10 debut, and her 1st WTA title. In 2017, she became the Miami Open champion, and Wimbledon semi-finalist.
