James Edward Harden Jr. was born on August 26, 1989 at Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a professional basketball player belonging to the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He attended high school from Artesia in Lakewood, California, while his college was Arizona State University.
Harden initially played college basketball for Arizona State which made him retired his number 13. He was also a consensus All American and the Pac-10 player of the year in 2009. Harden played for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2009-2012. He was selected as the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, that made him the first player to be drafted by the franchise as the Oklahoma City Thunder. On October 31, Harden signed a contract extension with the Houston Rockets for five years with net worth of $80 million, prior to the 2012–13 NBA season. The Rockets made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2008–09. He was named to the All-NBA Third Team on May 23, 2013. He earned the title of All-NBA in on June 4, 2014.

He is a two-time member of the United States national basketball team, winning gold medals in both the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2014 FIBA World Cup. Being one of the top overall players in the league, till 2017, he has earned All-Star nods five times, All-NBA Team honors four times, All-NBA third team once and All-NBA first team three times.
